What do Republicans really want? – More
There’s no reason to wonder why every single Republican voted against the recovery bill. Their only goal is to recapture power. And in doing so, they couldn’t care less whether any of us thrive or starve, -- live or die.

Remember Bush “kidding” that his base was the haves and the have mores? He wasn’t kidding. But dittoheads and fundies aside, the real power base of the Republican Party consists of tremendously wealthy people.

And what they want, have wanted and always will want is MORE. In reality, they’ll never get enough. Not only do they want to own everything and everybody, but, like Alexander the Great, they’ll weep when they have it all and there is nothing else to own.

Almost all of us have trouble understanding people like Bush, Cheney, and their corporate cronies. And they have just as much trouble seeing us as anything more than disposable/replaceable worker ants.

For all practical purposes, the super wealthy might as well be a different species from the rest of us. Throughout most of human history, people such as them have had it their way. There have been short periods of time when the rest of us got a chance to gather up the crumbs, (i.e. Roosevelt’s New Deal, Johnson’s Great Society), but once they grab back the reins of power, they try to undo the gains we’ve made.

So don’t be surprised by their attempts to destroy Obama and everything he’s trying to accomplish. He represents everything that opposes their interests and goals. It’s why most of the rest of us are backing him. He’s trying his best to help us. But to Republicans, people like us are nothing more than cannon fodder.

1. After the votes in the last election, I suspect they'd prefer we die, actually.

3. The Republic party is full of fools on so many levels, but only those paying attention can see it.
They are morally bankrupt, yet flaunt their "religion".
They are intellectually bankrupt and have no new ideas because they are fearful of change - or anything with any sophistication or creativity at all.
They have deep seeded issues - they dislike people, dislike pleasure, dislike anything or anyone popular.
They hate themselves.

And they want to take everything and everyone down with them.

Screw them all, I say!

4. A successful parasite knows when to quit feeding.
Any parasitic species that kills the host too quickly or weakens it too dramatically, ultimately, fails.

The Republics seem to feel the need to prove, time and again, that they are an inferior species.

6. I remember when *Junior had $25,000 a plate luncheon/Photo Ops...
Edited on Thu Jan-29-09 05:47 PM by lib2DaBone
I remember back in 2004 when the Decider had a $25,000-a-plate luncheon photo op in Florida.

They served a hamburger and some moldy french fires for $25K a pop.

The people were lined up for 2 hours(2 blocks long) at $25K a crack to have their photo with the chosen one.

These are the same people who want to continue making the laws which keep you in servitude and poverty. (In case you don't know.. that is right where they want you)

And in most cases, thanks to our Corporate Media.. this is what they will get.

7. My letter to my Rep., not that it will do any good.
R (of course) AZ

Dear Representative Flake,

I am deeply disappointed that you chose to put politics above the best interests of our country by your vote on the stimulus package yesterday. This is not the time for partisanship but rather it is the time to work together to solve our nation’s problems.

The President’s plan addresses the needs of the people of this country; demanding tax cuts for the wealthy does not. They have done little to help in the past and only serve to concentrate wealth in the pockets of a privileged few.

The previous administration turned a blind eye to the problems the people of this country face – crumbling bridges and highways, bankrupt and strapped states, poverty and homelessness, poor education funding and the high cost of college, and especially the issue of affordable health care. To demand the same old remedy – tax cuts for the wealthy – is irresponsible.

The old saw “cut taxes” is getting old and believe it or not, people are mature enough to realize that public services such as fire and police protection, schools, and road repairs cost money. We pay for these services through taxes. It seems that the Republican Party at the federal and state level has been taken over by Libertarians who don’t want to pay for anything. This is unrealistic and thinking people realize that. It is time that politicians stop equating tax increases or payment and their reelection chances.

Your House leadership is leading you down a path that is contrary to the wishes and needs of your constituents. You are of course aware of the budget deficit in the State of Arizona. Are you also aware of the plan to cut K-12 education funding by $133 million in the current year and 22% of education funding in 2010? This will cause Arizona to drop to the bottom in education funding. President Obama’s plan would provide help for schools, including those in Arizona. Similar effects are to be found in other aspects of the stimulus package.

Please, do what is right for your constituents, not the wealthiest 1% of the country. They don’t need tax cuts. Your constituents need secure jobs, affordable healthcare, safe and effective schools, and responsible government.

Thank you for your time.
