Where's our mass transit money?
http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/01/any-takers-for-a-green-stimulus-senate-bill-lowballs-mass-transit.php

This seems like a huge mistake to me - is mass transit just not sexy enough to get the cash it needs?

1. Hi Nick and welcome to DU
I don't have an answer to your question but I think mass transit is very sexy indeed and worthy of our support.

You might want to check out the sports forum if you are so inclined. There is a contingent of Bostonians up there consistently stirring the pot. I usually stir in the opposite direction.

8. thanks
Hey Boss - thanks for the welcome. I have to say, I'm not really planning on sticking around much longer. I posted a little sarcastic comment about a stupid article that was all about Obama's ratings (why we care about numbers instead of action, I'll never know) and was called a 'douche' - twice. I'm guessing that the person calling me that just misinterpreted what I was saying, but even still, this is how this "community" welcomes new members?

2. Not as long as people continue to vote with their fuckin' Mercedes.
Happened where I live - people voted against a train station and then they voted to turn a potential airport / transit hub into a shopping mall. That one still fucking irritates me.

5. It looks like Nadlers ammendment for 3 billion more for transit
is going to a full house vote tommorow.
----------------------------------------

Success! According to WI Dem in the comments to the action post below, the Nadler amendment has been approved:

Nadler's amendment is a go. Now everyone can play, because there will be a floor vote tomorrow.
Alright! Thanks to everyone who called!

Now we can move forward and start whipping on the Nadler amendment. Call the congressional switchboard at 202-225-3121 in order to reach your member of Congress. Ask him or her to vote "Yes" on the Nadler amendment to H.R. 1 tomorrow.
