These Republican 'folks' are scared to death or worse...
Edited on Fri Jan-23-09 10:56 AM by PCIntern
There is no question that Keith's interview about the NSA is not even the tip of the iceberg, it's the leading edge of the continent-sized glacier which will be revealed. The outrages of the former Mal-Administration shall be so evident, so egregious, so over-the-top that you won't need prosecutions, the individuals might require protective custody. In my opinion, the reason that some Republican Senators and gasbags such as Limbaugh are on the offensive is that within a few days, the leaks around the dam of censorship will turn into a raging torrent.

From abrogations of Constitutional rights through LIHOP to MIHOP, there will be an unending procession of revelations, some of which, I am certain, will shake the electorate down to its foundations. The President does not have to participate, it is going to happen by itself via the Internet, via the Print Media, and even via Tweety. Well, maybe NOT Tweety, since blogs are 'out'...although they're good for him 6 minutes later...but that's a story for another day/thread.

Just imagine if the Internet existed on 11/22/63...the revelations from this dark, dismal period will be as remarkable as the eventual truths which shall be unearthed about all the political deaths and destruction of individuals, groups, and movements over the years. I am happy that I will, God willing, be around to help connect-the-dots.

3. Why didn't Bush pardon himself?
That would have been an admission of guilt, but so what? If you're right, and I think you are, then he's going to have to answer for it and he'd have to be even dumber than I think he is not to see the handwriting on the wall.

It doesn't make sense.

4. Here's the scientific evidence: Republicans are scaredy cats
From Scientific American, Jan. 09, page 31: "Politics of Blank Looks"

"How we react to faces could be linked to our political affiliations. Psychologist Jacob M. Vigil of the University of NOrth Florida had 740 college students look at 12 photographs of faces digitally blurred to not display any clear emotions. The volunteers were then asked if these faces expressed sadness, joy, disgust, surprise, fear, or anger. The students who identified themselves as Republicans were more likely than those who identified themselves as Democrats to interpret these vague faces as more threatening, as measured by anger or disgust, and less submissive, as conveyed by fear or surprise. These findings, which appeared online October 21 in Nature Proceedings, are consistent with research linking conservative political views on military spending and capital punishment with heightened reactions to disturbing images and sounds."

8. We need someone who has a global picture
of this to post a resource thread with all the particulars. Of course, there may not be enough bandwidth to manage this...
