In interests of disclosure, I have ignored one person on DU since I've been here. I relented about three weeks later. Mostly out of a curious nature. I still think that poster is wrong about everything, though. But I don't post a lot so maybe that has something to do with my (obviously) abnormally low ignore count.

51. Inclusivity is not a matter of choice.

It is the nature of the game. I have to recognize that certain individuals are a matter of the realm i am in. I choose whether to give them my attention or not. That is what they are seeking afterall.

I prefer to live by my own ideals and those that inspire me, rather than be influenced by those that offend me. I learned long ago the only man i have to be better than is the one i am right now.

But then, that's life's lesson.

I did have one person a long time ago send me a message saying they alerted on me because I said something about the south - I put them on ignore because if they are that sensitive - it is best I do not even talk to them -

Ignore really makes life easier and over time you learn restraint and how to walk away, some places you just stay away from - late at night assume they are drunk if they say stupid things - no group is perfect - those who claim to be are probably worth being careful with because I find even those who say they are spiritual sometimes are just as snarky as repubicans - so make your life fun and move on to another person, group or whatever - there are a lot of people on this site - some of us are going to disagree - there are a number of non-democrats who come here and get to 1000 count and are here just to disrupt - if they are snarky and under 1000 they go on ignore for sure

40. The thing about laws and minors is the laws vary from country to country.

In France, children drink wine and beer at the table starting at a very young age. No one thinks anything of it, and they do not have a nation of wino kids. In Japan, they have big bath tubs and the whole family bathes together. In the US they would arrest the parents and call them pedophiles and tell them they were scarring the kids for life. And yet the Japanese grow up and get jobs and make lots of money and have profitable businesses and do not become serial killers or pedos. Some religions use hallucinogens and they never have bad trips or any other reactions to the drugs.

Just because your country has a law, that does not make it morally right or wrong. The Nazis had laws that said to round up and kill Jewish people. That was the law . You can buy a law with money or at the end of a gun.
