An idea to kick the "right" further down. Have a "correct instead of right" day!

Edited on Wed Jan-21-09 03:22 PM by calipendence
I think the right wing likes the insinuation that since "right" is in fact a synonym for "correct" that that gives them some sort of pat on the back for always being "right" (pun intended)... Especially when we also use "right" to describe something as "correct" many times too.
I was just thinking that especially since the new administration and congress is in office and these folks are trying to find a "home" now... We can perhaps destabilize them further, by having a day where we consciously make an effort to say "correct" instead of "right" the whole day.
Perhaps even other meanings for right we can also do this too, to make it more obvious what we are doing to them (aka use "starboard" as a direction instead of "right"). Or other places where we use right find other synonyms to avoid it. But the most important one to do would be to do the "correct" instead of "right", since that meaning of "right" has tended to give them big heads in the past.
Just one more thing perhaps we can do to get them to feel out of place as they move further and further out of power here.

1. I always use correct instead of the "r" word. I also use ahead instead of straight.

On one level, this is bullshit. But then, bullshit has been proven to be awfully damn effective. In the end, everything matters.

2. I try and use correct instead of right at all times and not just one day.

I came to this realization years ago..I also usually follow right with wing when I refer to them..Makes it seem a little more out there..

4. And a "left handed" compliment should be viewed positively and not negatively...
