Change Comes to the Oval Office
A photo of President Obama in the Oval Office this morning is especially interesting because it's clear he's instituted a new dress code: The new president is not wearing a suit jacket.

It was a rule during the Bush administration that no one ever enter the Oval Office without a jacket.

As someone who hates suits I'm liking this guy's style more and more. :)

4. The Bush Admin was long on style, horrifyingly short on substance.
Looks like people are expected to work, work, work in the Obama Administration.

5. He's all about getting the work done...
I hope he rolls up his sleeves next.

Bush needed the jacket to look like he wuz reelee prezidentin... President Barack Hussein Obama doesn't need props or costumes. He's the real deal.

Note to Skinner: Good to see President Barack Hussein Obama now clears spell check! Well done!

8. If he walked in wearing a thong and an earring, then yeah...lack of respect, IMO...
but just taking off his jacket? :eyes: oh, boy.

11. It's all about a false sense of decorum and my general hatred of business suits
I found it amusing.

9. Another in a long list of silly rules that can't be jettisoned soon enough.
I'm more concerned about whether the job is being done competently than whether or not people are dressed appropriately for a fancy dinner.

10. That's someone who's ready to work
Jackets are for show, Bush was about style (although not very good at that) and no substance.

12. That's OK -- any dropped change will show up well on that rug.
And the changes will show up well in the whole world.
