| CNN Catches UFO on Camera during inauguration? |
|
CNN Catches UFO on Camera during inauguration? on Jan21 2009 by Senior Editor | First of all, Congratulations to President Obama and the people of the United Stated of America. Change has happened. And, it seems possible that not only the whole world was watching the inauguration but beyond as well… One of the questions Obama was asked was whether or not he would give the world insights in to the UFO phenomenon. Some people might think it is not such an important matter where some think it is the most important question of all time that needs to be answered to the people. How important shows the following video from CNN, live from the inauguration. Please watch the video and take note at 0:08 and focus on the right of the screen. http://news1800.com/2009/01/most-popular/cnn-catches-uf... / Video on CCN's website:http://edition.cnn.com/video/#/video/politics/2009/01/2... - - - This is really interesting

I've been photographing birds for 30 years. Look at the amount of ground that thing covers. It has go to be going at super sonic speeds.

And it's freaking big - a lot bigger than a plane. The Washington monument gives an excellent size referent, given the distance the camera was from the monument, and the size of the object against the sky.

In the slowed version, when on the left side of the monument, it appears to overlap in front. We don't get a view of it being directly in front of the monument because a video camera is a frame-based device.

if you watch from the CNN site and put your fingers on both sides of the Washington Monument (blocking the sky) the object flys between the Monument and the camera. There also appears to be another shadow flying the opposite way as the first clears the screen.
I think it's Bush/Cheney's Bad Karma chasing them down.

of the video which would make it considerably larger than a bird and traveling at a very high rate of speed. I say "appears" because the video is compressed and it could just be an optical trick. I'd like to see the original, uncompressed, 1920x1080 video.

In my opinion, it is because photographs that are not grainy and blurry allow one to see what the object actually is (bird, balloon, airplane, Venus, etc.). Only the ones that are blurry and grainy are left and these become the extraterrestrial ships in the imagination of the viewer.

|
it's a compressed copy of the original that has a low frame-rate and very low detail. In the case of photos; modern digital photography is not necessarily a good thing. The CCD's in most, if not all, consumer grade digital cameras are horrible in low light situations. They are also ruinous when using digital zoom techniques outside of the capability of the camera's lens and CCD.

I know, I know what that sounds like. You'll have to excuse me I know I am new here so allow me to explain that I am into studying the metaphysical multidimensional aspect of our universe. If that object isn't some small animal flying close to that camera and giving the perception of something else. Then I'd say it could be an object vibrating at a slightly different rate than physical matter but close enough for the camera to pick up. In either case both would explain why nobody responded to its flyby.
Other than that. I have no idea.

The motion also looks like that of a bird moving on wind currents. So it's either a bird or something that does at least a passable imitation of a bird in flight. Common sense would suggest that an object that moves like a bird and draws no attention from a skillion people is much more likely to be a bird than anything else. Without the flapping blowing trash would be an equally good guess- urban tumbleweeds (blowing plastic bags) can move on air currents similarly, but I can't recall that I've ever seen one appear to flap in the wind unless it's stuck on something rather than blowing around.

I have seen fireballs in a crowd of people and was the only one to even notice. And it's really hard to miss a fireball, but only if you happen to be looking up at the sky.
I think in the compressed, small mode it looks like something moving way faster than any bird. However at full screen mode the perspective is corrected more and it appears that it could be a bird.
It's not fair to viewers that it is presented in the small compressed mode, though you can double click the CNN video for full screen.

I admit I only saw the low def "analyzed" video, but after seeing it frame, by frame, it looks like a likely candidate for a bird.
Here are the reasons:
1. The object passes in front of the monument clearly. This would position the object between the monument and the camera, the distance in question could be as short as a few yards, and without knowing the object's size, we have nothing to go on.
2. The object seems to disappear and reappear from frame to frame. If the object was a bird of prey or similarly-marked bird, the color of its underbelly and underwing tends to be lighter than the top-side. The camera didn't seem to pick the object up near as well every other frame because the wings were flapping..that is, if the object is a bird.
3. The object seems to disappear completely after a few frames. This is most likely because the object changed angles from the camera quickly....a bird leaves a very low visual profile from the front or behind.
4. Also, the object changes shape from frame to frame, as well, or at least the nimbus of darker color around it changes shape. If this were a bird, those would be the wings flapping.
5. There do not seem to be any eye-witness accounts of this object passing nearby. If this were to be a big UFO traveling at high speed in front of that many people, there would be multiple eyewitness accounts that surface. Perhaps an alternate video. So far we have one video where no one reacted at all...not very good evidence that this is anything other than something mundane...like a bird.
There are just too many observations that are consistent with the object being a bird for me to not to say that is the likely candidate for the identity of the object. I like the idea of UFOs as much as anyone, but this is a poor candidate for a genuine, confirmed UFO sighting.
|
| 158. I always remember birds flying around the Washington monument |
|
Plus it can be quite windy and if they are flying with the wind, they would go quite fast...
|
| 160. Double click the CNN video for full screen. It looks like a bird. |

It appears to pass in front of the Washington Monument. My guess is that it is an insect.

|
Cooper's Hawk: average flight speeds of 22-55 mph.

so yes, the speed of the object on the film matches well with a raptor.
