Safe from what? The constitution demons? Does anyone here seriously think the consitutional juju needs to be readjusted because Roberts fucked up an oath? :eyes:

Several constitutional lawyers said President Obama should, just to be safe, retake the oath of office that was flubbed by Chief Justice John Roberts.

The 35-word oath is explicitly prescribed in the Constitution, Article II, Section 1, which begins by saying the president "shall" take the oath "before he enter on the execution of his office."

Roberts is dropped onto the Mall with a blackboard and made to write the oath 1000 times first.

3. So, Bush wipes his ass with the Constitution for eight years, and that's fine
But Roberts screws up the Oath, and suddenly it's a problem?

5. He can say it to his bathroom mirror with Michelle listening.
No where is it required for the Chief Justice to be there f-ing it up, or a bible.

He's President. Any challenge to it will be laughed out of Roberts' court. Let them waste their money and spin their wheels about it. He is holding the office, he has the authority, a magic chant doesn't have to be said to rain special presidential powers on him.

7. I'd like him to do it if only to make Roberts look the conservative
fool he is.

But seriously, if enough legal experts think he should recite it again, and it can be done in private, then what does it hurt?

8. I think Obama did the right thingy
I think Obama stated the correct line & the wrong line didn't he? Big flap for nothing. I trust him to carry out the constitutional duties with flair & pose. We can stick this on the list of birth certificates the justices will be looking at friday 23rd.

21. Impeach is good
The guy is the top judge in the US and he couldn't even get 35 words from right out of the constitution said correctly?

He is an incompetent fool who should have never been appointed.

Impeachment would be the right thing to do. Why not?

12. Actually, they did it on purpose.
You see, Hussein uh, Barry, I mean Obama is not a U.S. citizen so he can't legally be president. By flubbing the oath, he makes people believe he's president while not actually being subject to arrest for treason... </freeper idiocy>

:silly:

(Although I'm joking, it wouldn't actually surprise me if some of those rw 'patriots' believe something like this...)

Aren't they just as cute as could be?

The 20th amendment makes it amply clear that oath or no oath the pretzledent was out at noon and the president was in. Also, it seems Obama already retook the oath with Chief Justice Stupid reading from cue cards this time.

17. It should probably be done.
First, it will shut everyone up. And it won't take very long, so Obama should just call up Roberts and make it happen and be done with it. The new Prez has too much to do to allow a detail like this, that can easily be remedied, to distract him and others from what needs to be done.

any Federal judge will do.

Actually, any federal employee will probably do, as would a mirror.
