What do people think about sending something to Senator Kennedy?

I'm just tossing this out- DU has done such things before as a show of appreciation- for Barbara Boxer and others. There is so much to thank Kennedy for, and it would be good to do it NOW, if you know what I mean.

Suggestions welcome.

Or donate to a charity you know he would support and say so.

7. it's not fun

I've got friends who are dealing with cancer, and I can't do a bloody thing for them, either. Other than be there for them. And a few of them will have less days on the planet than Senator Kennedy because they have limited insurance, or NO insurance.

I think if we want to SERVE our country, we need to elevate those who MOST need it. THAT I'm prepared to do, even as broke as we are.

I can't believe I have to point this out on DU. And BTW I have no health insurance either.

11. He's rich and can afford health care but receives health care through the taxpayers who do not have

the same options. What part of that don't you understand?

Has Sen Kennedy ever given us single payer health care?

Why shouldn't us, who are uninsured/under insured, have at least what the US Congress forces us too pay for, for them?

The goal is to erect a new building, complete with a replica of the US Senate chamber, on a 4-acre plot on Columbia Point in Boston that is owned by the University of Massachusetts, near the John F. Kennedy Library. The institute is expected to include a training program for incoming US senators, mock US Senate sessions for students, and museum space that will showcase excerpts from US Senate speeches and debates.

Sounds like a worthy cause to me and a wonderful way to honor his legacy for future generations.
