| Bush, Hannity, Limbaugh, and the Republican legacy depend on Barack Obama |
|
It is rather foolish for any of them to criticize him at this time. George W Bush has left 140,000 troops in Iraq in an unsettled situation. Nobody knows how it will turn out. It is up to Barack Obama to try and lead us out of that mess.
If it fails, it is not his sole responsibility. He did not put us into that situation. And if our economy worsens, which it is likely, then it does not solely belong to Barack Obama. He inherited this mess.
Bush, Limbaugh, and the Republican Party, should be praying every minute that President Obama will be successful. Because if he is successful, the Republican Party will claim success also. Victory has a thousand fathers. But if he is not successful with the economy or in Iraq, the Republican Party and George W Bush will suffer the verdict of the people. Surely Limbaugh and Hannity are smart enough to realize that? They have more to gain with a successful Obama presidency than anyone.

As far as I'm concerned, they're from the same litter.

http://thinkprogress.org/2009/01/20/limbaugh-obama-fail / Limbaugh told his listeners that he was asked by “a major American print publication” to offer a 400-word statement explaining his “hope for the Obama presidency.” He responded:
So I’m thinking of replying to the guy, “Okay, I’ll send you a response, but I don’t need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails.” (interruption) What are you laughing at? See, here’s the point. Everybody thinks it’s outrageous to say. Look, even my staff, “Oh, you can’t do that.” Why not? Why is it any different, what’s new, what is unfair about my saying I hope liberalism fails? Liberalism is our problem. Liberalism is what’s gotten us dangerously close to the precipice here. Why do I want more of it? I don’t care what the Drive-By story is. I would be honored if the Drive-By Media headlined me all day long: “Limbaugh: I Hope Obama Fails.” Somebody’s gotta say it.

The Republican party claims success now matter what. Haven't you read a conservative op ed lately. Apparently the US is coming off one of the greatest presidencies in American history, you just missed it because you're living in America at the time.

| 8. You really think Hannity & Limbaugh give a crap about more blame being placed on Bush? |
|
Edited on Wed Jan-21-09 11:29 AM by jmg257
The gravy train for them just pulled into the station. All they have to do is point out any & every perceived mis-step that their right wing listeners can cling to, whether true or not, ad nauseum, for the next 8 years. They will be rolling in it, and the ratings will climb! Pres. Obama being successful will actually prove what wind bags they actually are, and then they will REALLY no longer be significant.

They have nothing left to lose. Obama is smart not to back them into a corner but to give them the wall...give them an out They can play a roll or they can storm off the stage. I would advise staying in front of the lights.
