Only now can I sob on the outside. Exhilaration and fatigue after my 28 hr round trip / pictures

She told me there are "Dunhams" in her background and that Barack is a fifth cousin

he told me that he wanted to honor Barack's favorite comic book character

the mall from where I stood in the awful cold for many hours

walking in an endless procession of people, they were coming from everywhere and it felt like we were like moving spots on all surfaces

people near me in the cold

how I'm feeling right now and I'm turning in for about 3 hours.

7. If what the shuttle driver told me: That we had 2 mill at 8 am - and that he thought
by the end of the day that had doubled, it means (my son said) that one out of every 100 people in the US one was in Washington today.
In my exhaustion I can't verify or even imagine that, though, being in that crowd I'm not so sure he's not right.

We had one dispatcher who lost it completely, in getting the shuttles to RFK loaded. I kept having to tell her: There is no need to yell at us, we are only a lot of people stuck in trying to get back out of town, and it's not personal.

There was generally an air of happy "joining" and we were able to simply discount people who were disagreeable.
Imagine that, in about 4 million people !

8. the msm kept saying 1.8 million
Edited on Wed Jan-21-09 05:07 AM by orleans
i kept thinking it looked like more--1.8? bullshit. besides, didn't the fuckhead disband the park district count based on protests to him? he decided it's best NOT to know how many people show up at an event.

on edit: i love your pictures--they're beautiful.

9. they always try and downplay it, but like Berlin crowd
that place was packed, yet they kept saying only 100K people, whatever. Those who were there know the crowds were a whole lot bigger!

13. I looked for you and waved from my desk...did you see me? LOL.
Thought of you many times during that glorious yesterday.
did you hear the ABC news that there was not one arrest? Not one.

The tv mikes and music covered up a lot of booing tht was reported when * was on podium and esp. when choper lifted off.
Did you hear much booing?
Man, it was so good to see that bird fly the turd away.

15. Ha ha, we owe you big time, Mira!
On CNN they muted the sound of the crowds and never mentioned this probably unprecedented booing of an outgoing president.
