Driving to work I saw a new T-Bird with the license plate: NOT 4N

2. Thing was probably actually assembled in Mexico

12. No, they did not.
The profits from those sales were disbursed to Ford shareholders. Excluding the 4% stake held by the Ford family itself, the primary shareholders in Ford are ALL international investment portfolios. Heck, Ford's 2007 general shareholder meeting was held in MUMBAI. Why do you think that was?

There is no such thing as an "American Car Company" anymore. Only international car companies that happen to have HQ's in the United States.
