Anyone else vacillating between tears and laughter watching the concert?
I never thought I would live to see days like this.

God bless America.

1. Ya, I haven't started openly weeping yet but if there's another piece like Queen Latifah did...
...I'm going to be crying like a baby.

3. Yes, and it hurts wonderfully.
My heart is swelling, and I have a lump in my throat, but I was jumping up and down a few minutes ago when they panned the crowd. I think the scales of bitterness I've had over my heart for 8 years might be shedding.

4. I've been crying and smiling
The part of the Gettysburg Address that was read always brings me to tears. And the music--I'm crying right now.

16. I started at
"Fanfare for a Simple Man". What better opener could they have picked.

I wept bitter, angry tears a little over 8 years ago when my partner and I watched our ballots being carried off uncounted, before the first recounts in Florida, knowing we were witnessing the theft on an election and the rape of a nation. We knew the nightmare that was coming. I had lived in Texas under Shrub and we had both lived under Jeb in Florida.

That morning we called it "The Day America Died".

This afternoon, I have hope that a phoenix is beginning to rise from the ashes of neocon destruction.

I hope. I want to believe.

Right now, my eyes won't stop leaking with relief.

It's getting real.

G'd hear our cries and stay with us while we work to undo the messes the criminals, the traitors, the haters, the idiots, the small-minded and hard-hearted have made for us.

21. For the first time in eight years, there's tears of happiness
instead of the bitter tears of anger and frustration over an administration that didn't care what any of us thought or dreamed of.

With two little girls and their parents moving into the White House on Tuesday, there is hope.

Julie
