All-Male Team Sought For Dance Routines

POSTED: Friday, January 16, 2009
MIAMI -- The Florida Marlins are again looking for some footloose fat men.

The team is holding tryouts for the second season of the Marlins Manatees -- an all-male, plus-size cheerleading squad.

Real manatees, known as "sea cows," are best known for their large dimensions and inability to move out of the way of boat propellers. The Marlins want their Manatees to have the same dimensions, but to be decidedly more agile.

Last year's squad of big, burly men featured members with nicknames such as "Tiny," "Big Kahuna" and "Mr. Mantastic." The group performs dance routines between innings at Friday and Saturday night home games.

2. "best known for their... inability to move out of the way of boat propellers."
:wtf:

I guess whales should also be best known for their inability to hold their ears when blasted by Navy sonar.
