Just like seeing Reagan in War Games, we'll someday see Obama in a movie other than War Games. Unless there's a remake.

5. Bush's picture
My grandson would make a face every time he passed Bush's picture in elementary school. I guess this wasn't the right thing to do but I never reprimanded him for it.

2. to be "displayed"

I have hated going into any federal building the last eight years and having "w" on the wall.

:puke:

4. I'd considered that
but 'put' had a more "in your face" ring to it.

Hung was right out, of course.

3. 'Displayed' would have worked nicely.
Kind of sad you felt you had to make the distinction, but I know what you mean.

6. Oh..you're funny (hung)
but seriously..everything is just right in this portrait. The sober but confident, kind expression he has and the perfect match (compliment) of his tie to the US flag pin.
He is a good-looking man in so many ways.
President Obama...the entire planet is counting on you. Good Luck.

9. the tie....
I hadn't noticed how coordinated that is with the pin...
I wonder who helps him select his ties...Michelle,
or does he have a wardrobe helper?

I love this picture...looks to me like he's just getting
ready to break into that wonderful smile of his.

13. A wardrobe helper no doubt.
I keep staring at his face and I keep trying to see a resemlance to his beloved Grandmother "Toot".
This is so bittersweet. How much I wanted her to see his portrait in Federal Buildings everywhere across the United States.

May the gods protect us all. (Including Obama)

Edit: Clarification to reduce the chance of empty spin.

11. What a wonderful relief after years of having to cringe openly!
Having just been to DC, I can tell you that I have never seen the entire city so enthusiastic about a Presidential inauguration and I was around for inaugurations of Raygun, Bush I, and Clinton's 1st term. I made a point of being far away (it wasn't difficult since I am based overseas, thankfully) for Bush II, both rotten times.

Obama's face is displayed everywhere, even on DC Metro tickets.

12. I'd rather see Obama than * to be real!
It'll be a wonderful refreshing sight to see! I work in a Federal bldg and every time I saw *, I briefly gave it the New York salute and went on my merry way!

As for the metro tickets, they had to stock up 3 times already! I'll try to get one but I'm not gonna use it. It's a collector's item for sure!

16. I miss the days when painters had a place in society.
Still, nothing wrong with photography -- digital or film.

18. The paintings are for when the president leaves
Paintings are what they hang on the walls of the White House upon the exit of a president. :D
