Proper civility requires us not to pick sides? Gaza is more Shock and Awe.

We here on DU talk a good game of peace on earth, justice, hope, new beginnings with PE Obama. We say we want a sane world, right. If 9/11 taught us anything besides Bush being a total disgrace and incompetent, the "world" is not happy with US foreign policy. Our support of Israel here is what this is all about.

So, please people, wake up and imagine you woke up in Gaza. The Palestinian people are crying out to the world, how long can they be ignored?

Our very own security depends upon lessening the violence in this world. Please have the courage to demand PE Obama support the Palestinian people with more than rhetoric and please consider we are all Palestinians today.

1. John McCain was just refighting the Cold War.
He didn't actually care about Georgians, although that one lobbyist on his campaign did.

13. Remember that McCain sent his "envoys,"
Lieberman and Graham, to Georgia?

What was THAT all about, I wonder? His need to look "presidential"?

6. Yes -or how about "We are all peace-seeking citizens of the world today"
Trying to reclaim the world from the warmongers everywhere. (And terrorists are just warmongers without an official military.)

10. Obama needs to work actively for peace in the Middle East

and America should demand a ceasefire now -as Europaean countries have.

That being said, 9-11 was not caused by America being pro-Israel (that was just one of Bin Laden's excuses); nor should it be taken as involving genuine criticisms of American foreign policy. There are many genuine critics who are worth listening to - Al Quaeda are not.
