On edit: The picture of the earrings doesn't do them justice. The lady that made them goes hunting for a variety of trashed antique glass and reuses it in jewelry. I may have to personally invest in a matching necklace or something else from there.

4. I got a scented candle and a book
from two friends. I'm hoping for a gift certificate to my local pet supply store so that at least the cats can keep eating. I can go a week or more without food and not mind much at all, but my fur family can't!

7. we have 2 cats and a dog and they are all eating Meow Mix. Dog loves it
we used to feed them differently, but the dog refused to eat her food and always ate the cat food

18. It's better for her anyway
most dog foods are filled with corn and other cheap fillers. Even though meow mix has some unhealthy stuff in it, because it's for obligate carnivores (cats) there's more protein, taurine and fewer carbohydrates in it than most commercial dog foods.

16. Lol! Ramen was my dinner tonight!
The MSG gives me a headache, but I ate it anyway. The cats ate Prairie Nature's Variety and Solid Gold indigo moon-two holistic USDA brands from my favorite natural health food store.

I don't have much anymore, so my pets are more important to me than ever!

20. Haven't tried those brands
Edited on Wed Dec-24-08 02:04 AM by Believing_Is_Art
Mine alternates between California Natural Herring and Sweet Potato and Innova Evo. I had him on Kitten Chow when I first adopted him, but then there was that big pet food scare and I got paranoid. Now he's too spoiled to go back.

I usually leave out the flavoring packets with ramen. I'll add lemon juice and pepper for flavor, but the MSG makes me feel sick.

24. Hey, that's an idea
I don't know why I didn't think of trying to flavor them myself before, but I do have quite a few spices around here! Thanks for the tip.

10. Ours were anniversary gifts
hubby IS a reader, so got him books and we share the hobby of gaming (miniatures) so we got each other models to assemble, paint and talk over.

I also got a copy of Mama Mia (love it) and a plus penguin to go with the Linux Box I guess... I love it

Hanukkah, we are doing the dreidel with chips, so we can share with the conures and tiel

Now if I can find a top with vegetable paints... the birds would love that...

19. your daughter got you that coach bag ?
i saw a man buying one like that, maybe a different size but the same color/design when i was at the store recently. it is really nice with an elegant look to it. i don't like the ones with are too flashy their the logo but this one is more subtle.

23. I got one for free once.
New York City. Corner of Broadway and ??. As I was inspecting one of them, a cop car pulled up to the curb and the "vendor" grabbed his blanket full of stuff and ran like hell, leaving me "holding the bag". I still don't know if it's authentic, but... hey.

31. it probably was.
We were in NY in April and I had a chance to buy one for $75 bucks but I didn't realize at the time it was authentic and I wasn't paying 75 bucks for a knock off

I kicked myself later!

29. I got what I wanted... absolutely nothing.
I haven't exchanged Christmas gifts in at least 15 years. I now LOVE Christmas!
No shopping, no hassles... just fun baking and decorating and singing carols and eating good food.

Christmas afternoon googling won't influence that.
