For what its worth, the story was the multiple white water car rescues ......
.... and not the water main break, per se.

The local white water rescue team say they train every day for white water rescue. They train every day for urban flooding rescues. They train every day for river rescues.

They never trained for an urban white water flood rescue.

(Context: the ongoing coverage of a water main break in Bethesda, MD by MSNBC, and probably other news organization.)

1. It was impressive and fascinating watching how efficient the rescuers were
But one of the idiot talking heads on MSNBC kept calling the boat they let down the stream of water a "swift boat." Here, those shallow draft metal boats are called "jon boats"

I thought "swift boats" were the small craft used in the rivers of SE Asia by the US Navy:

I guess some urban news bimbo thinks swift water rescues are done with swift boats and is too ignorant to even know that her assumption is wrong.

2. Where do they find them?
Honest to Goat, they must grow them in laboratory vats, isolated from the natural world.

7. At least most of the TV talking heads are marninally more intelligent than Dana Perino
But only fractionally.

I was amused this afternoon watching the breaking coverage of the Obama team release of contacts with Blagoyevitch. You could hear the person feeding info to Chuck Todd. If the voice and cadence hadn't been different, I would have thought it was an echo. As it was, I had flashbacks to "Broadcast News."

3. Was it a boy bimbo or a girl bimbo. They have a new boy bimbo who is the bimboniest.
Jeff Rossen. He gives new meaning to airhead. He makes stupid look good. Curiously, NBC has no pictures of him. This one is from the last job he had .... before he got canned. I suspect NBC hired him cuz he's cheap.

6. It was a girl bimbo - I wasn't paying much attention to the announcer
Just the rescues. I think it was their morning brunette.

5. Per the news this morning, it was 135,000 gallons per minute
and it was downhill which is another thing that made the water swift.
