The mother of Levi Johnston, boyfriend of Bristol Palin, was arrested Thursday for drug charges.

Wired PR News.com – More controversy now surrounds Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin, post presidential campaign, as reports surface of the recent arrest of the mother of her teenage daughter’s boyfriend. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Sherry L. Johnston was arrested Thursday for drug charges that sources now say are related to oxycontin. Authorities have so far released little information concerning the case.

Sherry Johnson’s son is Levi Johnston, who became publicly known after Sarah Palin announced that he is father to the unborn child of her daughter Bristol. Levi was in attendance with the Palin family at the Republican National Convention.

As noted in the AP report, troopers in Alaska did issue a release citing Sherry Johnston was arrested on six felony counts including possession and second-degree misconduct. She was let out on bail the same day as her arrest.

A Governor Palin spokesperson was reported to give the statement that there would be no comments provided by the governor regarding the matter because it is not state government related.
