Gather 'round kiddies, for the Freeper Letter of the Day,
Brought to you by the venerable and unbiased Richmond Times Dispatch.

Litany Against Bush Was Biased and Unfair
Editor, Times-Dispatch:

People keep beating up on President George Bush. Why? He was not a candidate and did not lose the election.

I refer to the letter from Lee Rice, "President Bush Failed to Lead," in which he lists an unfair litany of grievances against the president and quotes a book by Doris Kearns Goodwin to back up his diatribe. Hogwash.

Who the heck is Goodwin anyway, except a biased person who writes books? Rice quotes Goodwin's quote from Abraham Lincoln in an attempt to show that Bush is an inadequate president. Boy, that's really a stretch -- a double stretch!

Could it be that some people keep beating up on Bush to mask their trepidations as we tiptoe inexorably toward President-elect Barack Obama's entrenchment on Jan. 20, 2009? Yes, I think so.

Peggy A. Burns. Mechanicsville.

1. Even more incredible than the letter itself
is that a newspaper deemed it worthy of publishing.
I have no clue what the writer is trying to say.

3. Yes, I'm scratching my head as well
And this was published? Hmmm, interesting.

I do like the fact that the writer mentioned that all Goodwin does is write books. Damn fool books!

7. I would submit
that the writer does not know either what she was trying to say.

Peace,

2. Quelle la fuque?
Which grievances against Bush are unfair? Why? And if the other letter writer hadn't cited any other sources, I suppose that would have counted against him or her, too.

The Times Dispatch shouldn't waste op-ed space on such red crayon scribblings, as a general rule. But this one defies any attempt to make some sense out of it.

4. We have two like that in the Easton PA Express-Times.
Actually, we have several, but the real standouts are Esther Smith, from Bath, Tom Panik from Bethlehem and honorable mention goes to a Lee Merendino. All three seem to be in an unannounced competition to the death to break the surly bonds of sanity and deny every objective and documented truth under the sun. But for pure zaniness, the kind of joie de vivre that one can only find in one who has had their cerebrum and cerebellum removed from any physical contact with their medulla oblongata, Esther is the clear leader. Her every post is pure comedy gold.

18. Ain't it the truth? It's a real mullet wrapper. We stopped getting it a long
time ago -- I read the copy we get at work, and the letters never fail to make me hurl. Where the hell do these morons come from? And everyone wonders why I hate Richmond! Geez, folks, read this paper! You'll be worshipping the porcelain goddess in 30 seconds!

Bush was not a candidate and did not lose the election....and, so...we are just supposed to forget about the past 8 years?

14. Yes, they think we should forget about the last eight years and that Bush is Pres NOW.
They're blaming everything that Bush does on Obama, right down to the bailouts. It's bizarre.
