14. Sucks - the 2 jobs thing
I remember while working on the control system of a 10,000 Hp. Natural Gas Fired GE turbine they laid off the senior most mechanic just prior to completion of the testing - Then the damm thing failed on Bearing Over Temp

You guessed it - the guy they laid off was the only 1 who knew how to fix it.

Management making a profit once again

12. They believe in the Aucshwitz definition: "Arbeit macht frei"!
"Work makes us free!" to cry in our beer as our employers suck the life from us while getting rich in the process!

2. If you still have some of your wages left, they want that too. They want a two class system, the exec
s and the worker bees working for as low a wage as possible. I'm sure they'd start up Company Towns again if they could so that we could all be real wage slaves. Grapes of Wrath is a wetdream for them.

5. Why do Democrats hate the American Worker?
Reid could have made them stand up and start reading from the phonebook making a public spectacle of how disgusting they are. Instead, he rolled over as usual, and let the Republican minority have its way.

11. Ding, ding, ding, winner!
That's it right there. The last 30 years, with more people working harder and longer, has been absolute nirvana for the Republicans. Americans are working two or three jobs just to fall behind a little slower. Productivity is up, but wages have lagged behind the economy. The wealth created by all that labor has been increasingly funneled into a few lucky pockets, the middle class is sliding into the lower class, and getting out of poverty is tougher than ever.

Now that the engine that drives our economy has maxed out, the country has seized up.

9. The wealthy never went broke . . .
Edited on Fri Dec-19-08 09:47 AM by HughBeaumont
. . . by underestimating the value of more than several million useful idiots to spread their foot-shooting propaganda that merely amounts to one statement: "WE'RE not the problem, YOU are."

Wealthy people, by virtue of education or learned negotiation skills, are masters at framing. So well are they at it, they can sell their victims the rope to hang themselves with. It's because of this gift that "divide and conquer" works so well when it comes to the working/middle/poor classes.

Instead of our message that "we're all in the same boat" and "there's strength in numbers", all of us untermensch latch on to the Repuke's toxic banter. "Reagan Democrats" want to believe there is someone worse off than we are, and that we should feel vastly superior and lucky that we're not THEM. Whether it's minorities, immigrants or really destitute people, "just remember . . . you could be where THEY are".

Toss in a bit of Horatio Alger (making Joe Couchslob believe he'll be rich someday, and no one better tamper with his hypothetical success) and you have your average Republican voter: It's all about HATIN' someone or something, and that thing they hate is the problem to them.

17. The bottom line
They want to make as much profit as they can, and keep it to themselves to the maximum extent possible.

They are greedy and/or in a game where having the most is proof of "winning" and they feel they must "win" over their fellow man.
