Any Theories: Why are Bush and Paulson Stalling on saving the automakers?
Edited on Wed Dec-17-08 06:20 PM by Mike 03
Every day that goes by, this is getting more serious.

Honestly, I can't figure this out.

IMO, this is Bush's last opportunity to do one thing that most people will see as positive for this country, help secure his paltry "legacy", such as it is--and that's help at with the problems of GM, Ford and Chrysler.

I can't believe he is dragging this out. I'm sure every hour that goes by is just inflicting more pain on more workers.

WHY? In the end, he has to do this, doesn't he? Regardless of what anybody thinks about how to resolve this situation, now it is in the hands of the White House and Treasury. What could they be thinking?

2. the bailout was a heist
they just can't figure out how to make this one pay yet. As soon as they figure out how to profit from it, they'll move forward with it.

3. They are looking to stab the unions in the heart through their backs.
Just trying to find a good backdoor approach with lots of cover.

5. The more desperate they get, the more concessions they'll make.
Bush could give a crap, honestly, and in the end just wants to be in a position of power to lord over the UAW.

Unfortunately, I fear he may get his last Presidential wish.
