Vilsack -- Cronyism I cannot believe in.
Edited on Wed Dec-17-08 11:57 AM by BushDespiser12
Ugg! This is extremely disturbing. Obama just announced Vilsack as Sec. Ag. :puke: I just posted this on Change.gov

"I am deeply disappointed in the nomination of Tom Vilsack. PE Obama says he can think of no one better than this corporate lackey of Monsanto. PE Obama showed much more vision during his Presidential run than he displays now in selecting such a poor candidate.

Under the guise of "Change", he is opting for a choice (with Vilsack) that will "result in the (flawed, unsustainable) 'crutch' of GMO foods sold to us at an outrageous and patent-protected price" (lifted from DUer, app_farmer_rb). Vilsack is nothing but a champion for increased corporate control over one of our most vital resources -- America's agriculture.

Please, I beg of you, rethink this selection.

Corporate cronyism I cannot believe in..."

2. This is a really bad choice. V's a shill for Monsanto.
He can't be trusted. The worst pick so far.

3. I have been rather reserved, holding back my criticism

of some of the cabinet choices. With Vilsack's displayed affiliation with the shitiest company on Earth (Monsanto), I can no longer hold my tongue. Dammit, I am pissed with this selection...

4. Yes, Monsanto's a virulently fascist company.
They'd kill us if they could hide the bodies.

5. Today's choices are two really bad choices. This said, it is not surprising.
If there is a topic most people are silent and ignorant, it is food and natural resources issues. People do not care and only react at the last minute, usually after serious damages have been made.

No surprise then that the agrobusiness got who they wanted.
