Tweety is "excited" about discussing Jeb as our third Bush president
Just went to commercial with a tease for the upcoming segment...Junior talking about how Jebby would be an "AWESOME" senator, asking "Will he run for president as well?" Then he said that tonight's "Politics Fix" segment is "exciting."

9. No, I keep throwing this stuff out there...
...for the VERY small group of people here who pick up on some vaguely pro-Dem comment from Tweets and post "TWEETY IS ON FIRE" and "TWEETY IS ONE OF US"...

Tweety is Tweety, and this bird ain't changin' his spots.

(Poor grammar AND mixed metaphors in one sentence! I am SO PROUD!)

4. His ratings must be tanking compared to Keith and Rachel. He's
just trying to gin up some viewers. Here in Florida (Palm Beach County) if you say Jeb, get ready to run 'cause somebody will throw something at you. I'd go so far to say just say "Bush"......LOL.

jebbie is EXTREMELY popular in florida. NO HE'S NOT!!!

i know exactly what they are doing . . . same old trick, if you say it often enough people will begin to believe it. i continue to believe that jeb's elections were dress rehearsals for voter suppression for brother dumbya. if this family EVER gets into political office again, it better be dog catcher.

30. Jeb's tenure in Florida was a dress rehearsal for Shrub's term in DC
Jeb had the same agenda - dismantle government programs while giving fat contracts to his buddies. Jeb's policies are what have put Florida's budget in such a mess now, same as Shrub's policies are leaving the country in a mess for Obama to deal with.

Most Floridians that paid attention know what a disaster Jeb was for our state. It is the low information voters that we need to educate so they do not fall for Jeb's slick lines again.

And of course, we need to make sure the votes are correctly counted. Fortunately Charlie Crist has let his Elections Department make an effort at giving us more verifiable elections.

The Obama campaign put together an awesome team that turned Florida blue-ish - we need to mobilize that team to fight against Jeb and to elect a Democratic governor in 2010!

32. I think Change.com is asking for suggestions on how the Obama campaign should use all the volunteers
I have not done it yet, but I got an email from David Plouffe (not to me personally, but to all volunteers) asking for ideas on what volunteers can be motivated to do in the future. One talking head suggested that Obama use us to help with rebuilding the country and our economy, but we still need to fight the resurgence of a-holes like Jeb.

Of course, Shrub's comments today about how Jeb would make an "awesome" senator may have put a stake in the Jeb for Senator campaign. We can only hope!

I'm up here in Tallahassee, BTW.

44. I don't do football - when I originally came up here for college,
I didn't even know FSU had a team. I transferred in January and was completely blindsided by the traffic for the first game of the year the next fall. Now I only keep track of when games are in town so I avoid going anywhere the fans will be on game day. Game days are great for shopping while the game is on.

16. Tweety on Fred Thompson:
VIDEO CLIP at the URL below, if you think you can stomach it...Chris apparently likes the way aged Republican men smell.

http://crooksandliars.com/2007/06/14/tweety-thompson-is-the-aqua-velva-man

MATTHEWS: Can I ask you a gender question, Ana Marie?

COX: You may.

MATTHEWS: Does he have sex appeal? I‘m looking at this guy and I‘m trying to find out the new order of things, and what works for women and what doesn‘t. Does this guy have some sort of thing going for him that I should notice?

COX: I can only speak for myself. I do not find him terribly attractive. Although, I do like the way he drinks his whiskey on “Law and Order.”

But I was going to say, actually—this is actually to the point—his support among voters is coming form men. He is not doing incredibly very well among registered voters who are women. I think that‘s really interesting. The other real base of his support so far has been the religious right, who clearly don‘t know a whole lot about him, because he has said some things that they are not going to like once it gets out.

MATTHEWS: Gene, do you think there‘s a sex appeal for this guy, this sort of mature, older man, you know? He looks sort of seasoned and in charge of himself. What is this appeal? Because I keep star quality. You were throwing the word out, shining star, Ana Marie, before I checked you on it.

Something is going on here when this is the new Robert Redford here.

I mean I just want to know—or whatever—what‘s his name? Matt Damon.

Go ahead

ROBINSON: Well, he has presence. I‘ll give you that, Chris. The rest of it, you and Ana Marie can decide, as to the sex appeal. You know, the numbers say he is more of a guy‘s candidate. He is doing well. Maybe he is a man‘s man. But, you know, it is interesting, what he said on Leno last night, which was essentially that he never really wanted to go after the presidency, but he kind of would like to have it.

MATTHEWS: Who wouldn‘t if it is offered to you? How many people get it offered to them.

(CROSS TALK)

MATTHEWS: Can you smell the English leather on this guy, the Aqua Velva, the sort of mature man‘s shaving cream, or whatever, you know, after he shaved? Do you smell that sort of—a little bit of cigar smoke? You know, whatever.

CONTINETTI: Thompson‘s a smooth character. He likes to smoke cigars. There‘s no question about that. People should ignore the “Tonight Show” interview.

19. Would that I could believe they are finished
Jeb will run and win against lackluster opponents for the Senate seat in 2010 (hard to believe, but he is still popular here in Florida). From there, Jeb will cool his heels in the Senate until 2016 then make an all-out run for the presidency, and don't think he won't have considerable GOP might behind him. Don't count the Bushes out, they're not dead by a long shot.
