Christian Newswire: Gore's mansion uses 20X national household average of electricity!
Well, they're persistent, I will give them that.

===
Contact: David Almasi, Project 21, 202-543-4110

WASHINGTON, Mar. 21 /Standard Newswire/ -- The black leadership network Project 21 urges Congress to ask the former Vice President about his own lavish energy consumption -- and his advocacy of a society in which only the wealthy could enjoy amenities most Americans currently take for granted, like home heating.

Gore's proposals would result in a society in which the rich get warmer and the poor get colder.

Gore's mansion in Nashville uses more than 20 times the national household average of electricity.

I'd REALLY like a side-by-side comparison. Especially with this TIMED assault on someone who ISN'T running for office.

Jim Dobson's?
Jerry Falwells?
GWB's?

Those whose leaders live in energy sucking mansions shouldn't cast aspersions.

13. This is coming from Project 21... an organization of Black conservatives.
Edited on Wed Mar-21-07 11:53 AM by redqueen
Which is itself an offshoot of the The National Center for Public Policy Research... in other words, another hit piece pushed around as if it were actual information and not well-funded BS.

This 'the regulations would hurt poor people' claim is just unadulterated BS. Astounding that people out there might actually buy that crap.

14. a society in which the rich get warmer and the poor get colder.
So what's fucking new? Gore's mansion would have had to have been built centuries ago to be responsible for this sad trend,a trend those who are bitching have no trouble perpetuating in every other way save their whiny lip-service.

They can go fuck themselves.

And, it's not like we could expect the M$M to give us the truth!:grr:

21. If people would read the attached article...
they'd see it's taking a different tack ... this piece acknowledges the offsets, and finds a new and different way to attack Gore (and the fight against global warming).

23. And it's a false premise — VP Gore is asking people to do what they can.
Even low income people can change their lightbulbs to CFL — even one at a time.

only a total idiot would expect anything OTHER than BS from the vast majority of so-called conservatives at this point.

24. They're saying the hypocrisy IS in the offsetting...
"Gore receives his offsets from a company that he co-founded -- Generation Investment Management -- and reportedly does not pay for them himself. Interestingly, Carbon Neutral Company, which provides Generation Investment Management with its offsets, says its offsets "will be unable to reduce greenhouse gas emissions... in the short term."

It actually reminds me of the mafia in the Godafther, where the trucking companies they owned ruined the roads, so what next? Start a company that fixes roads! And of course the Unions doing the labor too. The more money you have, the more you are allowed to buy your own forgiveness - from yourself! What a great scam - one these evangelists ARE WELL AWARE OF!

They are comparing Gore's actions to this type of behavior.

28. Actually, Gore's mansion uses renewable energy
...the carbon offsets are for the flights he takes to publicize the problem.

You can buy as much renewable energy as you want. That's the whole point. It renews.

Get your facts straight, shield20, before you start repeating a Republican smear.

I must have missed that. Hmmmm... maybe that's why he's not running? :sarcasm:
