Hate radio has gone into hyperspace since the elections. The right wing fears the Mighty Obama will shut down their beloved Rushbo and Sewage...all part of a cynical self-promotion by radio management to hold on to what few remaining radio listeners there are. Ya think the auto industry is a mess? Check the stock prices on the large radio companies...you can buy 4 shares of Citadel...the radio home of Hannity for less than 75 cents and still get change back. Many operations are stressed beyond belief (I have a friend who now oversees 6 stations, where he was only doing 1 three years ago...and still getting paid for 1) and I predict we'll start seeing hate stations and others start shutting down next year...not because of the "Fairness Doctrine", but another victim of their own "Trickle Down".

The best thing of last November's win was what a total repudiation of hate radio it was. The bile and lies were so over the top that it's long time game of sounding "reasonable" is gone...it's all shrill all the time.

We see a distortion cause so much of the corporate media is still coward by the bullies and are just starting to come out of the haze and realize the country has little tolerance for the kiddie games they throw on our teevees. With Monicagate, at least we had a stable economy and no wars...people could obssess on paying too much on taxes and what the definition of "is is". Stock price: $0.15. That's not even penny stock range. They used to delist a company that got this low. Add to that a market cap that went from over $1 billion a year about to $40 mil now...and this company is gonna be able to stay afloat? There have been quiet reports of a "Telcom Bailout" coming out of Komindant Paulsen's slush fund, but things are getting real, real ugly out there.

The Blago story all but obliterated the bankruptcy of the Tribune...a company that used to be the financial gold standard in this town. WGN used to bring in the highest revenues for radio and television. Now you probably could buy them on Ebay...Zell sells it all.
