Republicans Float Auto Bailout Alternative

WASHINGTON — In a last-ditch effort to revive a government rescue for the American auto industry, Senator Bob Corker, Republican of Tennessee, was trying late Thursday to persuade Senate Democrats to back an alternate plan that would require steep concessions by the United Auto Workers union and by creditors to General Motors and Chrysler.

bailed out in the end by the bank bailout sham? You know maybe the UAW should just shut the f---g industry down, I as a member of the USWA would be happy to walk out to support them. That's what should have been done back in 1980 when Reagan fired the air traffic controllers but our corporate Union bosses didn't have the b---s to stand up for them.
