Suit seeks Todd Palin e-mails that were withheld

He's been called the shadow governor. Now Todd Palin's role in state government is at the center of a lawsuit seeking state e-mails the governor's office has withheld for reasons such as "executive privilege."

Andree McLeod, a former state worker, has been seeking telephone and e-mail records since June for two aides to Gov. Sarah Palin. While she received boxes of records, others were withheld, including a considerable number of e-mails that were copied to the governor's husband, Todd.

So this week, McLeod went to court to appeal a decision by the governor's office to withhold the e-mails that included Todd Palin.

<snip>

"This latest refusal by the governor's office to hold back official state e-mails has left me no other choice," McLeod said. "And this is real important: The state can't cloak these communications in secrecy when the governor and her staff have broken the chain of custody by sharing them with a mere private citizen, who is not ... a state employee. Therefore, that entitles all citizens the right to examine these documents in the light of day."

1. Too bad the MSM doesn't go after Alaska's governor in the
same manner as Blagojevich. The Palin's need to be thoroughly investigated, imo.

And they have hard evidence for the grifter.

<snip>
Today Sarah Palin has disclosed previously omitted free trips, adding them to her financial disclosure forms. Hey, what's the big deal...she took those trips almost two years ago.

According to the Associated Press, "One of the trips, the James B. Hunt Jr. Institute of North Carolina - a nonprofit education policy group - paid the $2,827 cost of Palin's April 2007 flight and hotel in Scottsdale, Arizona, to attend a four-day conference."

So, who the ham and cheese is James B Hunt Jr.? Why was he sending our Governor on a trip in April 2007? Well, he's a former North Carolina Governor who was concerned enough about education that he set up a policy group. Here's their mission statement:

A month later Palin, her daughters and her former deputy campaign treasurer were put up for free at the Mt. Chilkoot Lodge in Skagway, Alaska. The rules state you must report any gifts within 30 days. Well, Sarah has been late reporting multiple "gifts." A June 30, 2007 trip for Piper and herself valued at $1,187. An April Republican event in Texas...oh, yes, the same one she went in to labor at the next year... valued at $4,620 with a cowboy boot bonus worth $1,000.

8. Amen
from your mouth to Fitzgerald's ears. Palin must be jealous of the attention Blago is getting.

9. A belated welcome to DU!
:hi: Palin was out of her league, but I sense she has corruption in her blood.

4. Did anyone notice that nowhere in the article
does it say anything about why McLeod wants the files (not that I saw, anyway).

6. I think it's a matter of principle with her.
Andree is a one-woman "hold Palin accountable" dynamo.

7. I'm sure this case will draw great interest in some circles
as a former first lady heads toward Senate confirmation.
