3. I'll bet that he isn't saying it's a conspiracy
by Bank of America. Because it isn't. It was a conspiracy by Blago to buy a Senate seat (allegedly). The guy is corrupt and has been for a long time. Just last baseball season, I was at Wrigley Field and he got roundly booed when he was introduced. The people in Illinois don't particularly like him either.

You think he's going to come out am say that he got a phone call to pull the trigger at this particular time?

Sure, he's likely been up to no good, he's a politician.

What's more it's great that Chicago is on the clean-up list. I'm almost hoping that 'the pay to play' for the Senate seat was a good leak.

44. Blagojevich is a crooked idiot.
That doesn't make Fitzgerald a hero.

Sounds like a junior high hall monitor could have nailed Blagojevich.

I don't like or trust Fitzgerald. His role in the Plame affair was disgraceful and either corrupt or incomprehensibly inept.

46. Who said anything about a hero? The guy is thorough.
And who you like or trust isn't the issue.

As for Plame, you have no clue what constraints the guy had to work under, nor do I, so I'm not going there.

Ah, but the "constraints" are the issue, are they not?

Fitzgerald is a skilled prosecutor who does what his bosses (in this case, repuke bosses who report to bush) tell him to do.

50. I doubt that highly. He's an independent, and I just bet if
he's not constrained by the Constitution, he'd go for the jugular regardless of who his bosses are.
That's part of his charm; I really don't think he'd let anything get in the way of his principles. I know, hard to believe.

He found the least important person, charged him with the least important crime, declared victory and went home to investigate a crooked governor.

Got it?

Nowhere have I implied that the man is innocent or guilty, that is irrelevant to my point. My point is that fucking with BoA might have prompted the timing of this operation. A phone call from here or there, who knows, and it's time to drop the hammer.

You folks like you some cops way too much.

52. Who cares about the timing?
From what I've read from posters who seem to know a lot about this guy, the Gov just only "found Jesus" regarding his concern for the common man re: BOA.

In other words, he knew Johnny Law was about to knock down the door and decided to do an end run so he could convince saps that it's really about his concern for the little guy instead of it being about his corrupt ass.
