Bush's Nixonian moment and Conyers' Rodinoan response

It is not the action Lord Pissypants...its the cover-up that is going to get you impeached.
Ultimately the President has the right to fire US Attorneys...and while precedent setting and ill-concieved and stupid He has the right to to do so for political retaliation. He does not have the right to do so to obstruct investigations into corruption by House members.
There is a line that you do not cross, because once you do its obstruction of justice.
Democrats have to flip this this around into stonewalling against what may be an attempt to stop investigation into chiefly Jerry Lewis (R-CA)
This is how you keep the focus on the issue and keep it out of "fishing expedition" arguments.
The counter threat from Conyers must be comply with the subpoenas or face an impeachment inquiry regarding obstruction of justice.
They will respond that you should never impeach a president in a time of war.....
Our response is that Richard Nixon was investigated during the last throes of Vietnam. SHut up.
He jumped the shark and this time, it may actually stick. About fucking time. It would be high irony if he gotten taken down by something that was in his executive purview instead of all the damn things he did that weren't.
already off to the races. It's a train and it is hurtling down the tracks. It seemed to take a while to get going but it isn't stopping now and there are so many broken tracks ahead. This is the time I've been waiting for. I'm so going to enjoy this. More than I should, honestly.
...there is nothing enjoyable about watching the almost irrepairable harm done to our country. This murder of criminals should never have been allowed within sniffing distance of the Executive branch and if we had had a press that would have done its job in 1999 it never would have. These are sad and heavy times for America and I hope we learn our lessons from them.
