To all of you who gave their thoughts on my "conscience"

advice, a little news.

I arrived at work this morning to find the man in question busy at his desk. After our hello's and a little chit-chat, I asked him if he ever did any interior or exterior painting. He said yes. I then asked if he would be willing to help me, could I hire him in the spring to help paint my kitchen. He said, "no need to hire me, I'll be glad to help. (I knew he'd say that).
I insisted that I pay him or no job so he said OK.

I then handed him an envelope with the $200.00 in it and told him to take the down payment now, never know what my situation will be in the spring.

He thanked me so much, said it wasn't necessary so I said , "Spend it on Christmas, there will be some great sales soon.

Left it at that.

Got to admit, I feel pretty good having helped him. And I made it sound like it was a job, not "help". You were all so kind to give me the courage to do this: For those of you who don't know the situation, the link below is the story.

Thought that was how it was done...guess not because when I tried to click on the link, just for the experience...I got the current latest news. It should have been my post from Sunday AM about 5:30.
