Obama, Gore to meet in Chicago
WASHINGTON (AP) President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden planned to meet privately with former Vice President Al Gore in Chicago Tuesday, Obama's transition office said.

In a statement, Obama spokesman Nick Shapiro said the three men would "discuss energy and climate change and how policies in this area can stimulate the economy and create jobs."

Democrats familiar with the meeting said it was not intended to be a discussion of whether Gore might take a position in the Obama administration.

Gore served two terms under President Clinton and ran for president in 2000. He lost to Republican George W. Bush in a disputed election that was settled by the U.S. Supreme Court.

1. Well, this can only be a fantastic meeting!
I imagine Gore will be glad to finally talk to someone who will listen! Wouldn't you love to be a fly on the wall??!!! The creative green plans they come up with no doubt shape America's future!

3. From CNN....
Obama meeting with Gore raises eyebrows

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Former Vice President Al Gore is set to meet with President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden Tuesday, leading to speculation Obama is eyeing Gore for a slot in his administration.

Nonetheless, Gore's high profile visit to Chicago, Illinois, to meet Obama and Biden is raising eyebrows, even among some of Gore's close advisers.

"The Gore trip is for more than just a chat," a close friend of Gore told CNN's John King. "He wouldn't burn that much carbon flying to Chicago just to talk."
