President Bush addressed this scandal yesterday. I appreciate his gratitude for my service — this marks the first time I have been thanked. But only a written retraction by the Justice Department setting the record straight regarding my performance would settle the issue for me.

think how you'd feel if somone broadcast nationally that you were inept at your job and then fired you. How would you ever find work again? They had to fight back. Bush's second problem is many/most of the USAs are well connected in local GOP politics so Bush pissed off the locals who put these guys in the office. And Bush bragged about how the admin was going to sandbag those GOP politicians if they complained. Nice team work Bushie.

As someone said last week, Bush broke the 2nd cardinal rule of governing: don't pick a fight with lawyers. The first rule is: don't start a land war in the middle east (or is it asia?)
