Wasn't she rushing to calm the situation between India and Pakistan? How long did she stay there, long enough to buy a pair of pumps at Manolo Blahnik of Mumbai? So all I remember from her last-gasp world tour is that she played the piano for Queen Elizabeth II. Surely Rice will go down as one of the most ineffective SOS in history.

Pakistan yesterday, and then in Denmark earlier today. I'm wondering if she didn't call a bunch of folk for a bunch of conversations that went something like:

Condi: Hi, this is Condi. You know, I'm not going to be secretary of state much longer and ..
Other: Well, yes, goodbye!
Condi: ... it just so happens that I'm going to be passing through on ...
Other: Yes, well, thank you. I understand that you are very busy. Goodbye! *click*
