Tiny crowd prays Supreme Court will invalidate Obama presidency

Published: Friday December 5, 2008

A small but determined band of conservative protesters gathered outside the Supreme Court Friday morning to pray the justices would invalidate Barack Obama's election.

The court was deciding whether it would hear oral arguments in Donofrio v. Wells, which argues that Obama's placement on the New Jersey presidential election ballot was invalid because he is not a natural born citizen. The justices are expected to dismiss the case.

1. Wingers who pray for harm to come to another human being
have completely missed the point of prayer.

I hope most people are making this connection.

9. As Gene Robinson says
There's nothing wrong with having a fifth-grade understanding of the Bible . . . as long as you're in fifth grade. But there doesn't seem to be any shortage of folks who never progressed past that point.

Including some on this very thread!

I can say the probability is very, very high that I had studied more of the bible by fifth grade than you ever have. In any case, prayer is by no means limited to people who use the bible as a primary source.

8. No, that's when the Satan-card gets played, because God would not allow such a "travesty" to occur.
Very convenient, no? All the bad shit (in their minds) gets heaped on "De Debbil." God must have been just too busy that day.

4. Logic says they must be bigots. If yes, somehow, I find everthing out
of wack to know that bigots pray, especially in front of a building of a branch of Government. Government, which they usually hate.

Who is screwed up? And how screwed up are they?

7. "Tiny crowd " sounds like an oxymoron
a diminutive throng, a miniscule host...doesn't quite resonate, unless we're going for irony here.

17. And CNN reported yesterday that there were thousands more suits filed across the country.
When are the rational conservatives going to pull their zealots aside and tell them they are nuts?
