Poll question: Do you believe Plaxico Burress is an idiot?

Plaxico Burress troubles off the football field are getting worse. The New York giants wide receiver was recently charged by the New York State Police with criminal possession of a weapon, when he accidentally shot himself while at night club. Burress, if convicted could be looking at up to five years in jail for the crime, and not to mention that he will likely miss significant time on the football field if and when he is cleared to play. As one person on the radio said today Burress could have just thrown his job and lively hood away with a very foolish decision that could have killed him or someone else at the club. Do you think Burress was an idiot for bringing a gun to a night club, and possibly ending his career as a result.

Because an Uncle of mine pulled a similar moron move that ended with his loaded pistol discharging when it hit the barroom floor killing a friend of his (and mine)...

Uncle "escaped" with no jail time..."just" the liability lawsuit and bitter recriminations that to this day split his family and the horrible day to day guilt. I have not spoken to him since that day.

So Plaxico may be looking at some bad and hard times, but that said he could be facing worse...

which I pretty much instantly think of when I hear or read the word/name "Plaxico". So I'm not sure who the idiot is, but I know I am not an idiot when it comes to firearms and safety/responsibility. So on that particular issue, I am one up on the guy with the name I can't figure out.

I'd love to know the origin of Mr. Burress's name... Creole? Mayan? Spanish? Greek? I can't figure it out... all I can think of is that the medical/pharma corporations are mad they didn't think of it. Now that I think of it, it sounds more like a prosthetics company name than a drug corp...
