the good news...the average recession lasts 8 months...the really bad news...this one is already a year old and shows little sign of letting up.

12. I remember a RW blowhard sub on WTAM 1100 just after 1/1/2008

saying that the New York Times was trying to talk down the economy by the NYT saying that the 2007 Christmas sales were down from 2006.

On and on about how the NYT was being a downer, that it was unpatriotic, that it was trying to cause a recession, etc. ...

and then, months later, Wal-Mart posted much lower sales figures for the season, as did the rest of the retailers ...

Of course, the guy still has a job ... despite being too full of partisanship to admit the truth ...
