5. Fielding has list of successors in hand
"Here's the deal. Al's gone. You guys pick the next AG. The investigative hearings stop immediately and you can do the business of the people. It's a total win-win for you guys!"

9. probably not
These are House members and the Senate would confirm the new AG, unless they're using Conyers as a go-between (possible).

14. True, but it's not clear who will be at the meeting. It simply states Dems
Obviously, Conyers will be there since he's holding a presser following, but I doubt he and Fielding are going to be the only ones in the room.

18. The vote was 94-2 and now Fielding wants to meet with JUST THE DEMS?
Edited on Tue Mar-20-07 12:59 PM by higher class
That means the Republicans don't figure in to the mediation?

Or is the WH dictating to the Republicans as usual?

21. The Republicans in Congress are in lockstep behind their commander in cheese
for the time being.

If his administration continues to sink like the Titanic, look for the GOPers in Congress to man the lifeboats and flee the sinking ship, to hell with the women and children! They have to save their political careers.
