Bush OKs countering Iranians in Iraq

WASHINGTON -
President Bush has authorized U.S. forces in
Iraq to take whatever actions are necessary to counter Iranian agents deemed a threat to American troops or the public at large, the White House said Friday.

The aggressive new policy came in response to intelligence that
Iran is supporting terrorists inside Iraq and is providing bombs _ known as improvised explosive devices _ and other equipment to anti-U.S. insurgents.

"The president and his national security team over the last several months have continued to receive information that Iranians were supplying IED equipment and or training that was being used to harm American soldiers," National Security Council spokesman Gordon Johndroe said.

"As a result American forces, when they receive actionable information, may take the steps necessary to protect themselves as well as the population," Johndroe said.

Yeah. Just like the "information" that Saddam was supplying Al Qaeda with weapons and training.

The U.S. invasion left HUNDREDS of weapons and explosives caches unsecured and unguarded as they "surged" to Bagdhad. When Saddam's army "melted away" as U.S. forces advanced -- remember that? That was even BEFORE that idiot Paul Bremer officially disbanded the Iraq army -- what the hell do people think they did with all their weaponry? They kept it and stashed it for future use.

Yet we're having this malevolent conspiracy theory about Iran "supplying IED equipment and or training" shoved down our throats in order to justify a military attack on Iran. The TRUTH is, it is our very own actions which brought this situation about.

SHIITE Iran is NOT supplying and trainng Iraqi SUNNI insurgents! If they are supplying anyone, it is the militias of DAWA (Maliki's party) and SCIRI (Hakim's party -- Hakim being the guy who visited the White House in December) who are heavily involved in the internal SECTARIAN violence in Iraq and NOT in concerted attacks on the U.S. military.

Blaming Iran is pure misdirection. And anyone falling for it is a dangerously ignorant fool.
