We must develop/invest in Alternative Energy
If we are going to spend our way out of this economic mess, we might as spend it on the future. Solar/Wind, etc is the future of manufacturing. We need to be smart with our tax dollars and subsidizing solar manufacturing in the US is the way to go.

and make alterantive energy affordable for those who choose to use it (I for one would love solar panels but can't afford it)

3. New energy is the most important thing we have to deal with
that's what will allow us to get off the mat if the worst happens. I say we must prop up this dying relic of an economy up, even if its to finagle an energy infrastructure and then collapse. If we want civilization to continue and flourish this is the key step.

4. Sure. As long as we figure out a way to make sure these manufacturing jobs aren't ever outsourced
the way the other ones were.
