So it looks like the bill on the last 8 years is coming due

Stock market collapsing.
The economy is in free fall.
Million's of jobs on the brink.
A very expensive 2 front war on "terra".
A decaying infrastructure.
A dumbed down populace who may be incapable of comprehending just how serious all of this is.
A world that hates us.
History will define W. as the worst president in this country's history, but it is a Pyrrhic victory for our side. In 2000 I was among the "Lord Help Us" crowd who knew W. would pillage the treasury and the economy for the personal gain of the cronies that put him in office but I don't know that I ever expected such an epic fail on every conceivable front.
Anyone who hasn't watched Frontline's report on the war in Afghanistan should. The prospects there make Iraq look like a relative Utopia.
President Obama has his hands full. Fortunately he's up to the task but I'm chilled at the thought of what's going to happen in the next 60 days.
1. We all have to hold onto the hope that Obama is up to the task
but, the task is becoming more intractable with each passing day. The traditional Christmas shopping season will be a very sobering blow to a whole lot of businesses. The employers of last resort like burger joints and Wallyworld will likely not be that anymore. The task may be too large for anyone.
4. Just wait til we actually get the bill, like in '93 when Poppy's reign ended.
Clinton had a lot of plans until we found out all that his "fuzzy math" was a shit-load of lies. And since Junior has always out done his Daddy, I truly suspect that when we actually learn the final numbers, everyone in this country will be speechless. And broke.
No doubt "the plan" was to have all this shit happen in Feb or March of '09, but the rats started jumping ship a little early, and the jig was up..while he was still in office"->if it wasn't so damned sad:(
