I've been suspicious of this for years, now I'm beginning to think my suspicions were right.
This economic collapse is by DESIGN.
(try to get through it... there IS a point beyond all the criminality)
The administration has been throwing away money faster than any in history. I know you don't know this because Faux news tells you otherwise, but this administration has been antithetical to YOUR ideals as well as those of any patriotic American.
Example;
Mom- you are FOR protecting endangered species. Maybe I'm just assuming so based on your work with the IFAW.
The administration has been reducing and removing protections for the better part of 8 years.
http://www.earthjustice.org/news/press/007/bush-administration-rewrite-of-endangered-species-act-regulations-would-gut-protections.htmlAnd then this;
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081120/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/bush_endangered_speciesYet you are told not to pay attention to that stuff.
You are FOR fiscal responsibility.
The administration has deliberately SHUT DOWN any attempts at accountability and has increased the national debt to astounding levels.

Well, in the FIRST year of his administration, it was announced that the Pentagon 'lost' 2.3 TRILLION dollars. To be fair, much of that was lost during the previous administration too... but has anyone accounted for it?
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/01/29/eveningnews/main325985.shtmlIraq has just been a big hole to toss money into as well;
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,129489,00.htmlYep, 8.8 billion missing. Anyone investigate where it went?
Well, the guy who was uncovering all the fraud and waste was FIRED by Republicans;
"And in a “shoot the messenger” coup de grâce, the latest casualty in the war may be the office of the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction (SIGIR) whose investigations have exposed waste, fraud, and mismanagement of billions of dollars spent by U.S. taxpayers in rebuilding Iraq. "
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15591657/Well, we know that Cheney's old company... whose stock options Cheney held was awarded no-bid contracts, and on top of that, was found to be responsible for waste, negligence, and even the illness and death of US soldiers.
http://www.halliburtonwatch.org/http://www.rawstory.com/news/2005/Cheneys_stock_options_rose_3281_last_1011.htmlSmaller government?
Nope;
"President Bush has presided over the largest overall increase in inflation-adjusted federal spending since Lyndon B. Johnson. Even after excluding spending on defense and homeland security, Bush is still the biggest-spending president in 30 years. His 2006 budget doesn’t cut enough spending to change his place in history, either.
Stephen Slivinski is director of budget studies at the Cato Institute.
Total government spending grew by 33 percent during Bush’s first term. The federal budget as a share of the economy grew from 18.5 percent of GDP on Clinton’s last day in office to 20.3 percent by the end of Bush’s first term."
http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_id=3750Environmental standards?
Notsomuch;
"As for the Bush administration, it has shown again and again that it will cater to industries that put America's health and natural heritage at risk; there is little doubt that more attempts to undermine environmental enforcement and weaken key programs will be made. NRDC will continue to vigilantly defend the environment; see our Media Center and Earth Action Center to stay informed."
http://www.nrdc.org/BushRecord/Education?
Uhhhh.... not really...
"oncluding a yearlong study on the effectiveness of President Bush's sweeping education law, No Child Left Behind, a bipartisan panel of lawmakers drawn from many states yesterday pronounced it a flawed, convoluted and unconstitutional education reform initiative that had usurped state and local control of public schools"
http://www.nytimes.com/2005/02/24/education/24child.htmlCertainly he's done something about poverty?
"Bush's Economic Failure Weakens Middle Class, Deepens Poverty and Harms Women and Families
August 27, 2004
"Yesterday's Census Bureau report—that for the third year in a row poverty in the U.S. has deepened—is a strong indicator of that we have a larger problem: we have a phantom economic recovery," said NOW Vice President for Action Olga Vives. "Despite the Bush administration's rhetoric that an economic recovery is underway, there are abundant signs that for most working families their situations are no better—and in many cases are far worse."
Ok... that was 2004 and written by a bunch of silly women, how about now?
On August 26, 2008 the Census Bureau released new
statistics on income and poverty for 2007, which was
probably the last year of the Bush economic recovery.
Unlike the previous 4 economic cycles, poverty
remains higher and real income lower during this
recovery than at the end of the last economic cycle (in
2000).

Infant mortality?
Uhhh....
http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0004393.htmlhttp://health.usnews.com/articles/health/2008/10/16/health-buzz-infant-mortality-and-other-health-news.htmlSurely the money's been going towards national security?
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/12/05/AR2005120500097.htmlSo the economy is in collapse, the middle class is poorer, less educated, and more ill, and the last great industry in America is about to be sold to the Chinese.
http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/breaking-news-chinese-may-buy-gm-and-chrysler/Once the American manufacturing base is finally done away with, then what?
I've been saying this was coming, for various reasons, for years now; The collapse of the American Empire once and for all.
But WHY? And HOW COME NO ONE SAW IT COMING?!?
Because they didn't want us to know... because we might have stopped it.
Next installment... the Power Paradigm.
