Feature suggestion to avoid dupes

Hi DU coding gods,

I'd like to suggest a feature to avoid posting of duplicate surveys, articles, and other hyperlinked content:
Can the bulletin board software automatically extract all URLs from postings, save those URLs in a separate indexed table and then check each new posting against that table? If a new post contains the same URL, an automated "potential repost detected" warning message could be displayed and duplications may go down.

2. they're using something like that to prevent dupes in the video forum, so

it seems possible.

I'd be in favor of reducing dupes! Would also help if the default sort was by start time instead of last reply (would also cut down on flamewars)
