Newt tries to put the genie (Palin) back in the bottle

Gingrich says Palin will not be the future GOP leader

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) is batting down the hype that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin heads into 2012 as the frontrunner for the GOP presidential nomination.

I think that she is going to be a significant player, said Gingrich during an interview on CBSs Face the Nation. But shes going to be one of 20 or 30 significant players. Shes not going to be the de facto leader.

Shes going to be a much bigger story in the short run, said Gingrich, explaining Palins higher media profile compared to other GOP governors. But, I think, as she goes back to being governor and as she works in Alaska, youre going to see a group of governors emerge, not just Sarah Palin.

Gingrich: Media Attacks On Palin 'Like Watching Pravda'
Moments later, he put an exclamation point on his criticism: "This is like watching Pravda. This is a one-sided, vicious, unending and dishonest campaign."

2. Sorry Newt. It's harder than putting one of your turds back in your mouth.
I support Newt's effort to remain a leader of the Republick party for many many more years.

3. I wouldn't be surprised if he is trying to create some drama
Edited on Mon Nov-17-08 09:07 AM by underpants
For all the "Will Hillary voters vote for Obama?" nonsense during the primaries there is no question that all that daily DRAMA helped Obama immensely. Both from getting his name into everyone's head to his WIN which showed that he is a WINNER and that it was cool to like him.

More here-my personal take on the election

5. Newt wants the job for himself
there is no way we are done with this corrupt POS yet. He's positioning himself for a run at the GOP Presidential nomination for 2012 and he thinks that the ditz from the tundra is a competitor.

I think this could get to be quite entertaining over the next couple of years.

8. Nah, if Newt were going to run he'd have done it already
He's smart enough to know that Palin = death for the GOP.
