The old saying that Power Corrupts sure seems very
apropos when discussing this economic tragedy we are in the midst of. Every day I read more information indicating those in power KNEW "and" participated in this meltdown......because THEY could reap millions and maybe billions of dollars. And the more I read the more it seems Goldman Sachs was and is right in the middle. My wish is for some group with Power "and" scruples to get involved and kick some ass. Lots of people need to be prosecuted. If I steal a pack of cigs from the corner store, I go to jail. If they steal billions from the treasury, no big deal. Very infuriating.

1. They say that patriotism is the last refuge
to which a scoundrel clings.

Steal a little bit of money they put you in jail
steal a lot and they make you king.

There's only one step down from this place
It's called the land of permanent bliss

Oh what's a sweetheart like you
doing in a place like this? - Bob Dylan from "Sweetheart Like You"

2. I quote yet again, a verse from the Fourteenth Century:
"The law will hang the man or woman
Who steals a goose from off the common,
But lets the greater villain loose
Who steals the common from the goose."

3. And they're getting the same people who allowed this to happen to help "fix"
it.

The other day it seemed that Congress was pissed that the money they've (we've given) for the bailout is going for stock dividends and CEO bonuses. How on earth was that allowed to happen? I'm not sure ANY of the funds thus far have made it to "Main Street" -- and the very people the plan was supposed to help are still hurting and have seen no improvement or hope.

Nice job.

6. I saw a great bumper sticker tonight. It read: We will not solve the great problems we are facing
by employing the same minds that created them in the first place.

Or something to that effect.
