1. There are several things to consider.
1. How big is the problem - Global Warming Wins hands down.

2. How Proximate is the problem; how soon will it blow up in our faces - Iraq War wins by a nose, because we don't actually know where the point of no return with Global Warming is; some believe we have already passed it.

3. How much can we do about the problem? Here Iraq wins again because we can probably get our troops out of Iraq within 5 years if not 3, but solving the Global warming problem will take a lot more from us and from other nations.

2. Iraq is an isolated situation that will eventually end when we obtain........
intelligent, sane leadership. Global warming will affect the entire world's immediate future existence.

3. Which has killed more human beings so far?
Edited on Mon Mar-19-07 10:51 AM by TahitiNut
Which is most attributable to perverted human behavior? Which has a higher liklihood of being ameliorated? Which is prosecutable?

Why not ask "Which is more important? Your child's flu or their college education?"

Does one make the other UNimportant? Where can our efforts yield more immediate positive results?

How much and how many greenhouse gasses are emitted by the engines of war??

5. It's called "Socratic." (And it's seven, not nine.)

 It's been a respected form of dialecticism for over 2,400 years.

6. We'll be dealing with global warming for decades after we get out of Iraq.
Which may be a decade or so off itself.
