My 700 Billion Bail Out Plan
Edited on Thu Nov-13-08 09:09 PM by Lerrad
700 Billion dollars is one hell of a lot of money.
$700,000,000,000,000

Lets put this into respective. The population of the US as of July 2008 was 303,824,640, or 303 Million. < (On edit was 3.03)

So lets split the 700 Billion Dollar bail out money up, and give it to every single man, woman and child in the US. Screw the banks and their golden parachutes! If we did this and if my math is correct each person would get:

2.3 Million Dollars $2,303,960 and 60 cents.

Now think about it for a minute. This would certainly get the economy going.

Nearly everyone could pay off his or her mortgage, which would solve the mortgage crisis.

Nearly everyone could buy a new car, which would keep GM in business for a long time.

We could all by big screen TV’s, ipods, or what ever.

And we would still have plenty left over for our rainy day fund.

Some of us would save the left over and keep working, but many of us except for the very young could retire.

In fact, I think maybe everyone could retire, and if everyone did, then their would be no one left working to build houses, make cars, farm our food and so on. Of course many people would simply blow their share very quickly on things they didn’t need instead of saving it, and I suppose that those people could then go to work making the goods that the rest of us retirees need to survive.

Yes this would certainly give the economy a very big boost, but we would still have to pay China back, correct? Or would we just say screw China?

1. Your math is wrong. We are 303 million, not 3.03 million

2. Also, 700,000,000,000,000 is 700-trillion, not billion
The real amount per head is roughly $2,300
