In the U.S., more cats are intentionally killed than die of any other cause. But this doesn't have to be the case.

Virtually every feral cat that enters a shelter or animal control facility is killed. The very system that is supposed to care about the welfare of animals is, in fact, subjecting them to a ruthless policy of extermination.

Funded by taxpayer dollars, these inhumane programs do not effectively control cat population growth. Only one method - Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) - does.

They are utterly useless because no one takes them seriously not even the person asking you to sign.

Rustle was a feral kitten, he had his intestines damaged by worms. He was a mess when I got him. . Vinny was an abandoned cat he was going to die if He could not be taken by someone So I stepped up.. Sparkle was given away to me.
Here they are and they are my best buds.

And I have worked at the aspca awhile and helped out ally cat allies.
I did wildlife rehab, and worked with big cats for awhile.

6. Cats carve out a 'territory'. Kill the ones living in that area

and more will move in and breed. Trap, neuter and release and the territory is 'protected' by those who will no longer be breeding.

We have that here in Charleston and it has reduced the feral cat population immensely in the last 10 years that it's been in operation.

A pair of breeding cats, which can have two or more litters per year, can exponentially produce 420,000 offspring over a seven-year period. Fix just one male and one female and that's how many you prevent.

Feral cats are feral because they are left in the wild. They have no one to feed them like domesticated cats and they have to kill prey to eat and survive. What else would you have them do?

11. If that were true there would be NO songbirds or small

animals left at all. Keeping cats indoors, spaying and neutering are relatively recent ideas. Cats have always lived outdoors, breeding indiscriminately and the birds, squirrels and chipmunks have managed to survive. Predators of all kinds have a place in the food chain.

Now there are few songbirds left in my area. But NOT because of feral cats. We have a hawk living out back and pictures of it taking other birds and squirrels to feed it's young. Pair that with the possum who lives under the shed and raids birds' nests for their eggs. I suppose I should kill the hawk and the possum?
