Can we please make this forum Sarah Palin free? My god, people...
Edited on Wed Nov-12-08 10:21 AM by Bread and Circus
She's neither popular, nor important. WTH is up with the tabloid obsession with all things Palin on DU? If you can't seem to get her off your mind, turn of your TV's for Pete's sake. There's a whole world out there that doesn't begin and end with SP.

After witnessing the Palinization-ruination of GD : P I thought I could return to GD and relieve myself of even having to think about Sarah Palin, at least for a while. I was wrong.

Am I alone in wanting at least one corner of DU to be Sarah Palin free?

13. Is Palin our VP?
I have not seen one thread regarding Joe Biden after the election. All I'm seeing on daily basis are Palin's threads! If you are that obsessed with her, there are certainly other sites you can visit! It's getting to a point when I can not enjoy DU anymore!

15. This is General Discussion - not the VP Forum.
That means it's open for general discussion.

If you want to discuss Biden, go ahead.

Your enjoyment doesn't come before the enjoyment of everyone else.

Let her go home to rest up for 2012. We will be hearing from her again soon enough.

35. She came home (briefly)
but she left again for the Republican governors' conference in Florida. Convenient since it's rather cold here now. I'm wondering if she's going to bother governing for the next two years, or if she'll just be running around the countryside chasing after cameras and microphones.

I don't particularly like threads about various and sundry subjects, but the "Posting Parent" threads about what people should and should not post are annoying as hell.

22. NO! NEVER LET UP! Sarah Palin is the MOST DANGEROUS PERSON...
...in the world! Why?

In a year that was supposed to be an easy romp for us, she exposed the raw, putrid underbelly of humanity by the insane, orgasmic reactions of the rednecks at all her campaign stops. McCain was a dead, impotent piece of schnitzel, barely waddling around in his Depends diapers and his measly, Mr. Peavely voice, when this moose-bitch from Alaska comes in and shakes up the scum bucket republican turds.

That makes her dangerous.

We were voted in with a MANDATE to change the country, and change the world.

Sarah Palin represents corporate capitalism in its most despotic sense. We are trying to destroy corporate capitalism.

Sarah Palin represents the rapacious, destructive element of humanity. We are trying to preserve the pristine, fragile ecostructure of our only home, Planet Earth.

Sarah Palin represents the racist, republican monolithic nature of the white supremecist mentality of the Alaska conservatives, with all its hatred of just, progressive values and sustained human development.

In short, Sarah Palin remains as a force of evil that must be watched.

In short, Sarah Palin remains as a force of evil that must be attacked.

The bottom line: Sarah Palin remains as a force of evil who ultimately must be destroyed. Politically.

Pure and simple: NEVER let up on Sarah Palin. Destroy her career NOW, before we have to put up with the peanut gallery later.

Sorry you don't think the Palin threads are fun right now like some of the rest of us do. But don't worry, her notriety won't last much longer. Think of her as the leisure suit of US politics.

Edit to include this great smiley I just found:

45. Well I was highly annoyed at Wolf Blitzer's Palin infomercial today.
On and on and on he went, giving her the free airtime she craves, so she can prove yet again she's an ambitious stupid idiot. But enough is too much. We already know what a dufus she is.

27. I wish that we could ignore here, but she's not going away.
For those who think that Sarah Palin is irrelevant and too stupid and mean to ever return to national politics, I point toward W as Exhibit A.

In 1999 I made the mistake of assuming that nobody would take the moran governor of Texas seriously. I will never underestimate the power of the right-wing again.

29. Sarah Palin is highly relevant and in the news.
The fact that people here want to talk about her is sufficient reason to have threads about her. Your personal lack of interest is merely evidence of your evaluation of the relevance vel non of Sarah Palin. Obviously, many others differ from your opinion.

She's relevant because 60% of Republicans say they want her in 2012, and she's not going away.

I would suggest that the main problem is your lack of perception that she is important to political dialog. You've missed the obvious because you don't want to hear about her.

Not that Palin is Schiavo, but just thinking of the tabloid quality to GD. Those who want to ignore her can do so, and those that are ignoring her are probably doing so quietly. Those of us who consider her dangerous though will continue to watch.
