1. Recommended - it reminds me when FL's election chief stormed away from Palast...
...when asked about the voter roll purge in 2000.

3. The whole MD - DC - NoVA bureaucracy (state and federal)....
...just makes me want to vomit. These incompetent, third-tier "managers" sit around in their little committee meetings discussing essentially nothing and come up with the most ludicrous of bureaucratese to justify their existence. Then they defer all their decisions to some unnamed "contractor" or "consultant" who buffaloes them with so much bullshit that they just accept their word. And on top of that they point to some QA or QC program that has no data collection or real analysis and then foist this bullshit on us.

What an arrogant little twit this jerkette is.

4. Dig it, yo...I'm from Maryland and have worked on voter/ballot access issues
for some years. This woman has been nothing but a one-woman obstacle to a responsible voting system since Diebold pushed its loathsome nose into our state. Literally everyone from the governor on down wanted to either dump Diebold altogether or at least require them to accommodate a paper trail, but this harpy dug in her claws and refused to allow it with a fury that led anyone watching to conclude that, surely, this woman is on Diebold's payroll somehow. She has GOT to go.

Did I just start a post with "Dig it, yo"? Good God.

12. Thanks, Brad
I watched "Stealing an Election" before the election which of course makes one nervous. But, a couple of nights ago I finally allowed myself to watch "Recount". Man, I think it's like having a baby. You, know I'd put so much of that pain out of my mind and was shocked at what I didn't remember.

I heard "she who shall not be mentioned" on a radio program a few days ago and she announced shenanigans worse than ever.

Anything on Missouri? I worked on some really screwed up numbers in 2004...long story. But I heard Thom Hartmann interview Charlene Davis, director of BOE in Jackson County, concerning her involvement with voter disenfranchisement during the primaries. We (our local No Stolen Election group) interviewed her four years ago and she's a real piece of work

14. No Private Company SHOULD EVER Count our votes
the process has to be completely TRANSPARENT and more secure than these electronic machines.

The fact that she was unwilling to answer legitimate questions regarding this shitty system shows her disdain for the people who vote. She can go F herself....

17. Here is an explanation for the layperson (for those who don't understand this)
We want to see the Wizard of Oz with our own eyes.

What the official fails to grasp is that Executable Code is just 1's & 0's. (ie. 0101110101)

Nobody can "examine" or "read" the executable code, so no one (besides Diebold) can understand EVERYTHING the software can do.

Source code looks like this, and humans can read it as "let secret_password equal deepthroat' :
secret_password = "deepthroat"

Machine code looks like this, which isn't readable by a human:
01010110011010010111011001100001001000000100011101100101011011110111001001100111
01100101001000000101011100101110001000000100001001110101011100110110100000100001

You can try to test what it does, but you can't see inside "the box", so to speak.

This is important, because the programmers (if they were evil) could write the program so that when the state "tests" the executable under "normal" circumstances, it works fine and appears benign. But they could hide a secret "backdoor" in the software that the testers would never find. This backdoor could allow malicious people (Republicans!) to make the "Executable Code" give them more votes with no one knowing.

In short, secret code in elections systems should be illegal. Hell, Nevada doesn't even allow video poker computers to run "secret code".

21. Well, you see, she just TRUSTS that the code works...
because Diebold told her so. When she realizes that the interviewer is pinning her for not doing her job (i.e. verify that the machines PROPERLY count the votes), she ends the interview. What a classy lady!

I am in favor of transparency and putting people in office that don't believe in faith, I want things that can be touched, felt and seen with the naked eye. Illusions, magic and witchcraft are the tools of Diebold POOF!

if I wanted to live in a Fascist state I'd move to Texas.
